Are the Scriptures more than the words of men? Are the Scriptures the Word of the Lord?

"What the Scriptures say must come true." (Mark 14:49)

Why? It's because the Scriptures come from God, and God is the God of truth. When God speaks, He speaks the truth. Whenever we are tempted to doubt the Scriptures, let's not forget that this means that we are questioning God. We are saying, "Has God really said?" This question takes us back to Genesis 3:1.  It is the question of unbelief. It comes from "that ancient serpent, the devil" (Revelation 12:9). What we say about the Scriptures - Are they to be trusted? or Can we set them aside as no longer relevant to today's world? - shows what we think of God - Has God revealed Himself to us? or Do we make up our own ideas about God, as we go along? Are the Scriptures more than the words of men? Are the Scriptures the Word of the Lord? Each of us must give our answer. It will be the answer of faith, or it will be the answer of unbelief. Will we listen to what the Scriptures say to us concerning Christ, our Saviour? or Will we stop reading the Scriptures, stop listening to the voice of Christ and stop trusting in His love for us? Each one of us must answer these questions for ourselves - every day of our life.
