A Prayer For Forgiveness

"Do not hold against us the sins of past generations;

    may your mercy come quickly to meet us,

    for we are in desperate need.

⁹ Help us, God our Savior,

    for the glory of Your Name;

deliver us and forgive our sins

    for Your Name’s sake" (Psalm 79:8-9).

We come to God with our sin. He gives to us His forgiveness. We come in our desperate need. He comes to us in His wonderful love, His amazing grace and His boundless mercy. It's all about His giving and our receiving. When we ask the question, "What can I give to the Lord?", the answer is given to us, "Give all the glory to Him."
